How does the gravity casting machine cool the mold?
Release time:2024-12-18
In the production process of gravity casting machines, it is usually necessary to maintain a constant temperature change of the gravity casting mold during the production process, in order to ensure the stable quality of the castings produced. So every time a product is produced, it will wait for the temperature of the gravity casting mold to cool to a certain temperature before casting. Do you know that gravity casting machines are used to cool molds?
Generally, forced cooling is used to cool gravity casting molds, as natural cooling takes too long and reduces production efficiency. There are three methods of forced cooling, namely air cooling, indirect water cooling, and direct water cooling. Air cooling is a method of heat dissipation that uses blown air cooling to enhance convection. This method has a simple structure and is easy to produce, but the effect is not good enough.
Indirect water cooling refers to placing a water jacket on the back or part of the mold for cooling, but some castings cannot be produced with intense cooling, otherwise it may increase casting defects. Direct water cooling is the process of passing water directly through the water jacket for cooling, but it is costly and only suitable for large-scale production. Generally, the choice of which method to use is made by the foundry manufacturers based on their actual situation.
